Apple CarPlay
Just found out my GLE was built on 1/7/2016. Apple CarPlay will be put in all GLE's after 1/8/2016. Missed it by a day but then again I don't use any of those features on my Iphone anyway. At least my GLE has the lighting package that is now on hold until the end of February.

I was told that new orders can't get lighting package ordered until after February. Something about a parts shortage. There might be a retrofit fir CarPlay. Time will tell.

Is there any way to get Apple Carplay installed on 2016 GLE purchased earlier last year?
I noticed that the 2016 Volvo XC90 received Carplay through a software update at the dealer...

We can only hope but it doesn't seem promising. I have spoken to customer care twice and, both times, I was told that there was not going to be any type of retrofit.

Im also wondering about CarPlay, I just picked up my 2016 GLE350 on Jan 30th and I was extremely disappointed to see that CarPlay was no where to be found. MB definitely needs to push a software update to this SUV for Carplay. They also need a update in general, the Navigation map controls are buggy as hell, the back up camera looks like its projecting a cartoon etc. Need an update plz!

How do you think I feel? My car was produced on January 7th, one day before Apple CarPlay was to be put in the car. The bottom line is I wouldn't use it anyway. I am old school and like getting phone calls, text messages, and wireless Bluetooth audio all from my command system. That's really all I need, even though it would be nice to have the newest technology. There are worse things in life to get upset over.
