450 AMG is being just replaced by 43 AMG, still the same car and price, for MY2017 MB has just renamed all 3.0 V6 biturbo aka 450 models to 43, that's it.

But the GLE 400 in the US has the 3.0 V6 biturbo too. Does this mean it is now GLE 43 or only outside of the US replacing the GLE 450?

I am in the process of ordering a MY17 GLE and have seen the Order guide. Disappointing in some ways because some of the prices listed are wrong (according to the dealer). The base price has gone up on the 550e to $66,300.00. Also, MB has decided to eliminate some of the stand alone options and roll them into packages, thus making certain features more expensive. As an example, the LED lighting package is no longer available as a stand alone option, but is in the Premium 2 package, which includes heated and cooled cupholders (no longer standard) and rear seat sunshades (no longer a stand alone option) a rear passthough (not available on my 550e) and interior ambient lighting and illuminated door sills (no longer standard).

Where are you located? My salesman said no 9G-Tronic transmission on the 550e I am ordering, and it uses the same gas engine as the GLE400. Also, the MBUSA.com website is now updated to the 2017 models, and it says the GLEs still have the 7G-tronic.

nope, gle 400 is lower model, non AMG. 450/43 AMG is an entry level AMG.

Thanks for the heads up on MBUSA. I intended to switch from my 2014 E350 to 2017 GLE, but being in the northern climate a heated steering wheel is mandatory. However, the MBUSA site does not list it as an option! Yikes, no heated steering wheel = no GLE for me. I've researched BMW X5, Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, & Acura MDX, but the GLE was my top pick. I like the feel & features of my E350, but need a more upright seating position. What to do??? Any advise on alternatives? Thanks

Heated wheel is an option. $250. Under interior section. I just ordered it.

Thanks, that's a relief. I had only seen the single page 2017 'teaser'. That page also refers to the 7G transmission, but hopefully the page is already out of date & the 9 speed is included.

I'm located in California. I do see the site shows 7G for the 2017 GLE 400, my 2017 GLE 400 PO shows 9G. Not sure which is incorrect. I did notice if you built the 2017 GLE 350 4matic, it shows the engine is a 3.0 L V6 Biturbo, i'm assuming that is incorrect. Also the price of my Package 2 was $2120 but the site shows $6020. Not sure what to make of it.
Cheers

Ordered AMG GLE 63 S Coupe
I already had the 2017 GLE 63 s coupe ordered on waiting list for a few months. I checked the build of the 2017 today and they have definitely changed up what is included in what package. I believe that there are some mistakes on the website build. For example, they have illuminated running boards listed in two different sections. One section has them for $0 and another for $1650. The 2016 build had heated steering wheel and cooled/heated cup holders as options and I don't see the 2017 build with those as options or standard features. There are other small features that seem to be missing on the 2017 build that were included on the 2016 build.
My GLE build starts in about a week, so I am going to contact my dealer tomorrow to get some answers.

The GLE 400 on the site shows TBD for both fuel economies, if the engine was the same 3.0 L V6 Biturbo / 7G-tronic, then why would it not have the same mpg as the 2016 model. This makes me believe the 9G-tronic will be in the 2017 GLE 400, the 9G is more fuel efficient hence the TBD for now. Also the curb weight is TBD. The new 9G is lighter then the 7G. One last thing, the 0-60 is now 5.9s, the 2016 was 6.0s, possibly due to the lighter 9G. I can only dream. Everyone's thoughts? Fingers crossed.

2024 GLE63s / 2016 GLE63s (traded) / 2016 E63s / 2002 E55
I hope there pricing mistakes shown on MBUSA. The options for a 2016 GLE 63 I was interested in increased $3,620 for 2017.

For 2016 the Aluminum Running Boards were a 'No Cost' option but now is $670.

The Night Package is still $750 but no longer has the Black wheels included. The 21" Black wheels are listed as $1,200. So what you got for $750 in 2016 is now $1,950.

That is interesting. The DOG had the same mistake. It is because they failed to give the $3900 credit for the Premium 1 package which is already included in the 400 and 550e. My premium 2 for the 550e was $2000. But it includes the LED lighting , rear sunshades and heated cooled cupholders etc. Premium 3 includes Parking Pilot and the surround view camera, so I deleted that $2250 option and added the Premium 3, which for $2890 gave me the parking pilot, plus the distronic cruise, crosstraffic warning, etc for an additional $640 over just the Parking Pilot package once I upgraded to Premium 3. It was a no brainer. If I could have added stand al.one lights and surround view (last year both about 1300 each) I would have done that and saved $2200. But there is no way to do that for the 17s, so I went up to Premium three.

The website now has the fuel economy figures list, but still has the 2017 as 7G Tronic...Any word on your build?

That is good news. When are your scheduled build and delivery dates?

P.S. I checked locally, and some of the local dealers appear to have 2017 GLE 400's in stock. They do not list 9Gtronic as being on the vehicle...very odd.

Build date is listed for mid sept 2016. My last day to edit the PO is Sept 15th.

She also checked the 350 and it still shows 7G.

I don't know. I have a GLE 550e on order with a mid-September build, but they use the same motor (the V6 biturbo) and appear to have many of the same features as standard, just the 550e adds the electric motor to the powertrain.

Trying to find out exactly which dealer locally has the 400 in. Mercedes website is pretty bad, only shows me availability in a 50 mile radius.

That is super weird.

I just contacted benz product development through live chat and the rep double confirmed that 9Gtronic is on the GLE400 2017, and not on the GLE350.
