Check engine light
Well, after 15k (kms) the light came on! The car was idling slightly unevenly in the past few days....not sure if it is related.
My 2009 ML (d) had the light come on regularly!!! It was always one of the o2 sensors.
I am am not liking this! I hate going to the dealer, time is money for me and such trips cost money in terms of time.

Before you take it in for service, check the gas cap. If it's not screwed in securely, that will sometimes trigger the check engine light. Turn the car off. Remove cap completely. Then, replace and tighten securely.
I had this happen once on my present vehicle. Luckily, I remembered reading about this in the manual. I shut the engine off. Then removed and replaced the cap. The light never came back on again.

Thanks gle43_sube
Great trick, but it sometime works on the gasoline units.
Never on the diesel. I wish it did. I am pretty sure it is one of the o2 sensors. What a deja vu!
