Hi everyone. I have Apple car play according to the specification of my vehicle, GLE SUV 350d, European edition, built December 2016 which should be 2017 model year maybe. When I plug the I-phone cable in the lower USB port under the armrest, where there is a picture of a phone, everything that happens is that some silly MB add starts audio playing and that's all, nothing appears neither on the vehicle display, nor on the phone. Am I wrong with the way I want Apple car play to work or I have to install something additional to my phone, I-phone 6S?
All kinds of advice will be highly appreciated.

Try going to phone, click with wheel and select apple carplay.
If that does not work do a radio/system reset(i phone unplugged) then plug it in.

It may just be set to not start apple car play automatically.

Everything turned out to work properly, for those who are interested, in order to start Apple car play you should have Siri enabled on your I-phone from the Settings menu. Mine was not because I don't use this option and that's why nothing happened.
