push to start function

I have a new gle43, less than 2000 miles. It is my first Mercedes. The push to start function works the first time about 50 percent of the time with it not catching or stalling requiring a second start operation. Is this typical or is there a problem?

Are you "briefly" pushing the start button, or holding it in until the engine turns over. You have to do the latter.

You can briefly tap start if you want, holding is Not required. Just make sure you hold down the brake until the engine turns over. If u release the brake slightly, the engine will cut off
