Hello! I just got a GLE 550e with Mercedes cross bars and noticed that the cross bars are very thick, so my old Thule surf rack doesn't fit. Most racks out there attach with two parts that screw together around the cross bars, but don't account for this kind of thickness. I guess Mercedes accessories rely on sliding in the cross bar, and unfortunately they don't make surf racks. Any pointers on makers and/or sites that have compatible accessories?
