fuel filler door popped open

fuel filler door popped open
locked the car. (did not look on passenger side). went in the house. couple hours later come out and the fuel filler door is popped open. anybody have something like that happen?
it was not left open as i was driving. my right mirror has a clear line to the filler door and i am constantly checking mirrors while driving.

Maybe the fuel filler door was not shut very good or completely and when you locked the doors it made the it pop open. (locking the doors also locks the fuel filler door)

Mine did the same thing multiple times, then I discovered it was the extraterrestrial aliens refueling their spacecraft at night before they started doing circle crops down the road.
