2016 GLE 350 Front Grill Emblem options

Since there is a lighted front grill emblem, and there is an option to change them out.

At a recent auto show I saw a number of C-class and SUV's with a "flush" emblem I like more than the "honeycomb" dished style the GLE 350 came with (as pictured).

Rather than the lit emblem that is available, does anyone know if a "flush" style from another model will install in place of the factory one? A quick check at one dealership suggests since it isn't a stock item fit can't be determined, at least by them.

Wishful thinking is that this would work, but without being a direct p/n replacement I can't get a decent dealership answer and I'm hoping the MBWorld group can help in determining if a flush emblem will fit and a p/n to get.

Thanks in advance!

Other than the illuminated star, there are no emblem "options". The flush star is part of the optional Distronic Plus system. There's a radar gun behind the emblem that's used to regulate the vehicle's speed in relation to vehicles ahead.

I'd settle for a non-working Distronic part if it locked into place as the factory original does, but unless someone has tried that it's unlikely to be an option.

Perhaps somewhere in the internet universe there's a part that will give me the look I'd like to see--- time will tell.

I don't see why it wouldn't. The problem might be buying just the empty housing, without the Distronic innards.

This is a nice link for parts, but they are only carrying new and complete assemblies. I like their prices for the everyday maintenance items and likely will be using them in the future.

I'll be checking out area salvage yards this summer to see what I can make use of or if a 3rd party vendor has made something that would enhance it even more.
