GLE 350 Performance
Hello All,
I bought my first Mercedes GLE 350 last week and I have to say so far I am really liking it. I do think it could use a little more umph. I cannot seem to find any mods for the 3.5, Tuning, headers, cat back...?? Am i blind or is there not much to be found?
Thank you

It is a slow vehicle indeed. It doesn't have Turbo (they just added Turbo in 2020 model) and 3.5 liter is not enough for such a big vehicle. 0-60 is advertised at 7 secs but it takes longer per my testing. My 2016 accord EX-L v6 is much faster than my 2018 GLE 350. GLE350 is more like a family SUV, not a performance vehicle. If you want more acceleration, go AMG in GLE350 or else go for 2020 GLE 450 or earlier GLS models.

Normandy, I agree that the standard GLE350 is not real fast. However, try Sport mode. It is noticeably faster accelerating than Comfort mode.

Chassis, Thank you but I have already used sport mode and while it is much more responsive, i would still consider further modifications if available.
Appreciate the feedback.

On one of the MBWorld forums I followed up on a link someone gave for a GLE performance upgrade. You sent in your Engine Control Unit (ECU) and they reprogrammed it for a minor hp upgrade and a few other enhancements. I decided at somewhere in the approximately $700-$800 range it wasn't worth it for what you were getting since I knew it wasn't a sports car when I bought it. It would have been nice for an intake kit and reprogramming to result in over 20+ hp, but it isn't in that class of vehicles that get higher performance upgrades.
