Has anyone modified their bumper to have the exhaust come out of the faux outlets?

Weird. My 2016 does. I guess they decided sometime between 16 and 18 that people didn’t what to clean their exhaust tips. So open, full-metal oem tips exist and so does the heat shield that opens towards the rear (though I’m sure you’d have to drop the exhaust to change it). You’d have to double check that they didn’t change that rear diffuser when they changed the exhaust setup. Then it’s just a matter of cutting/welding an extension on your exhaust.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, your rear bumper is slightly different from mine so those parts probably won’t be a direct swap. I guess you have AMG exterior package and I do not.

What year of GLE is this. I thought all GLE's had the exhaust routed through the rear bumper outlet. I know my wife's 2016 does. Sure would make keeping them clean easier. I kind of like the ML's rear bumper because they didn't have the exhaust opening.

They did a slight update to the exhaust starting 2017 MY. I have a 2016 and it is open exhaust. However, in my building's parking garage there is a 2017 MY and the exhaust outlet is covered.
