When I open or close the tailgate on my new-to-me '17 GLE 350 SUV the tailgate does not emit a warning beep, although the operator's manual states that this is supposed to happen. Is there a method of turning this feature off and on? if so, I'd appreciate someone providing the instructions for reactivating the feature.

According the manual it is supposed to beep twice upon opening and closing.

I went out to the car to see if it beeps. It does beep twice when opening or closing. I apologize for my error!
