Dynamic Drive Controller Not Working
So we bought a 2017 GLE 350 at the beginning of the year, everything went well until about August when we started getting an annoying intermittent check engine light that no one could diagnose. It was a few days later that I noticed that when the light was on the dynamic select controller for drive style wouldn't work. Since mid-September the light is always on now and the controller doesn't work anymore. I was thinking maybe I could do the replacement myself since it seems like it should just be some screws and plugging in a new one (though a new one is hard to find as well). Does anyone have a good how-to guide on opening up the center console area around the COMMAND controller safely without breaking anything?
In case I'm not clear, I mean the controller that is not working is the drive selector (Sport, Comfort, Individual).

Sorry but what is FUYAA? I guess to do a short test I would also need to get inside of the console to get to the wires too, so still wondering how to best do that.

The dynamic select controller is most likely not your issue. It's probably not letting you change the drive mode, because the engine has a fault evidenced by your CEL being on all the time now. Instead of replacing the controller you need to fix whatever is causing the CEL. It's most likely just trying to protect the engine by not allowing you to activate Sport mode, which could make the engine have even bigger issues, partly because it tends to run at higher revs in Sport.
