Switched Power at Glove Box Light?

I am looking for a switched power source near the passenger side footwell (and prefer not to tap into the mirror or overhead console if I can avoid it). I read on here that all of the fuses on the end of the passenger side dash are hot all the time, and the only switched power fuses are underneath the back seat (or in the engine compartment). However, a couple archived posts on the ML forum (same W166 platform right?) suggest that the glove box light is an ideal switched power source. I could just use a screwdriver to pry out the lens but I might need to hide some stuff behind the mouse fur "ceiling" panel in the glove box. The ML forums mention 4-5 screws, but I can't seem to find all of them (perhaps the GLE has fewer?). Are these the only screws I need to remove to pull down the glove box ceiling? If not, where are the others located? (It's dark out so I could have easily missed a few, and will check again the morning.)

Great idea and thanks for the PDF. Just finished hard-wiring a radar detector. Actually ran a second wire as spare from another brand so I can easily switch between detectors later if I wish to.
Removed the glove box, tapped into the lamps's solid black wire for plus and ran the wire up the A-pillar.
