P2617 Crankshaft Position Signal - Replace Procedure
My 2017 GLE350 CEL is on, and the code is P2617 which is Crankshaft Position Signal Output Circuit / Open. I believe that I will need to install a new position sensor.
Does anyone have the procedure for replacing the crankshaft position sensor on the GLE350?

Thanks! this helped considerably.
I found that there was access to the crank angle sensor from underneath once I removed the aero panels. So I was able to replace it without removing anything else.
The car starts perfectly now, but the CEL is still on and the ECU is still in limp mode. Will the ECU reset by itself, or do I need to purchase a scanner to erase the errors and reset the CEL? Also, if I need to purchase a scanner, which one is recommended?

The Autel MX808 OBD tool has been mentioned in this forum, I have not used it. Best to use the search feature and read user comments when used with the relevant contemporary MB models: W205, W213, W222, W166.
