Rear right tail light removal of GLE 350 impossible

I've been trying to replace the rear right tail and it is proving almost impossible to remove the current one.
I thought this was an easy job, but it seems that the left one is the easy job while the right sided one is insane.
The right one seems to have this 12mm bolt that is practically impossible to access.
I'm contemplating removing the trim but that seems like a very complicated situation as I am not sure where all the fastners are.
Does anyone have a guide on any hints on how to remove the rear right taillight on a 2016 GLE 350?
Or any help on how to remove the rear trunk trim on the right side.

The trim removal WIS is on this site. Use the search function. Trim removal is required to replace the aux battery on the right side of the luggage area.
