Folks anyone knows if anyone installed Oil Catch Can on the GLE350 DI engine. I am still searching for some write-out with pictures.
I have GLA 250 it comes with Oil separator but GLE350 does not so plane to install a catch can but need to find the correct line f ( still learning the mechanics of this engine). So any help will be appreciated

 

Haven't seen this on this site. Is there a reason for a catch can?

 

As this is a Direct inj engine so those engines are prone to have carbon deposits. I know there is a video where the owner showed cleaning the throttle body and oil separator for E350 Sedan. In that video ( see the link and oils separator around 5:20 min) the oil separator is right below the throttle body. I noticed the same throttle body but the oil separator is missing and the hole ( red arrow in the pic) is plugged in my case which can be removed though. Unless mine 2018 is not DI engine then the missing oils separator makes sense. But when I checked using VIN number it is naturally aspirated direct inj. Green arrow in the image is the oils separator, see in video how much oil came out which could stick to the intake port and can cause issue

 

Haven't seen anyone on this site running a catch container.

All W166 engines are direct injected.

 

Can anyone please check under the hood and see if you have this ( in the red box ). I do not have this strange, this is M276 DE35 engine
