I am actually very surprised why Mercedes didn’t offer to upgrade the 3g modem to an LTE modem. Tesla did that and so did the other manufacturers.
I think it’s a win win situation, consumer goes to dealer, heck even pays for the upgraded module, dealer will likely recommend other services , makes money out of the visit and then Mercedes can continue to charge for mbrace. Customer is happy too.

Oh well, due to the loss of 3G features I lose some auto insurance policy discounts. Time to renew my policiy and I have to certify these to get discounts:
