2018 GLE Lift Gate Noise Question
I'm new to the forum. I've already found tons of useful information so thank you everyone!
I bought my 2018 GLE used and the power lift gate makes a noise that I'm not sure if I should be concerned with. I made a video. Please let me know if you think this is something that's normal, or that I can address myself, or if I should have fixed by a mechanic. Thanks!

Weak battery or the actuator is on its way out. The gas strut on the opposite side could have failed putting more stress on the electric actuator.
Replacing the gas strut would be the cheapest way to start figuring it out.

My 2016 doesn’t make that noise and that definitely is not normal sounding.
i remember reading somewhere a few years ago that you should not pull or push the lift gate when opening or closing…you should let it open or close without assistance. I wonder if this was what happened to yours along the way…
(pure conjecture on my part)

Thanks chassis and Chefcct for the replies! I scheduled service with the Mercedes dealership here in Austin. I have to wait 2.5 weeks to get in. I'll post the results of what transpires in case this happens to anyone else.
