GLE 350 (2017): Car Cover Recommendations

Hi. I did search the forums but can’t find a specific thread on car covers for a GLE 350 (2017) SUV. We bought another car so my SUV isn’t getting driven as much and I want to cover it. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Janky, My recommendation is to avoid car covers if you are parking your car in a garage. If you park your ca outdoors then a car cover is your only option. I park my cars in my garage and use old bed sheets to protect from dust, moisture and contaminants. Old bed sheets are economical, soft and won't scratch the paint as will a car cover.
My opinion.
Ron

Ron104: My new car is parked in the garage. The MB is older so gets to park in the driveway. Hence I'm looking for a cover. Good point though, I want one that won't damage the paint.

Sorry, can't help. Limited experience with car covers.

Per my experience, you should use car covers ONLY in the garage as using them outside will rub the paint during winds.
Being in the garage, you don't need custom cover. Nobody sells covers for my 1922 Ford T, so I just use painting cloths on it.
Also get "California duster" for dust removal on long storage.

All car covers don't last forever. I don't care if it has a 10 year warranty. I had one aftermarket that was suppose to be the toughest car cover for all weather. It got destroyed in 3 years from Snow, Sleet, etc on my race/show vehicle. I would go with OEM due to a perfect fit and I had one that lasted almost 10 years in all weather for my old CLK500 that was parked outside.

Rule of thumb make sure the vehicle body and glass is clean before you put the car cover on and then strap the car cover down so the wind won't blow it away. I use tow straps with hooks and I tie it form the eye holes and run the strap under the vehicle to the other eye hole (center/middle bottom) and tighten the strap.

Forgot to reply to this. I called my local MB and they were able to order OEM car cover for me and it's working perfectly.
