OP, any follow up impressions, likes and dislikes compared to your previous MB?

I looked at a Macan S and Macan Turbo to replace my 2017 Volvo daily driver with about 100k miles...

I will say, not impressed with the Turbo...too much money for not enough performance.

Thinking about a used AMG wagon... again

Love it. What a great car. It's an awesome combination of performance, luxury, comfort, aesthetics and value. All of those things are subjective of course.

Comparing it against my base GLE350 is not fair except for standard features, which I posted earlier. Some things MB does better, but many things Porsche does better on the fundamentals.

Performance and value: the Cayenne S 2.9TT V6 has nearly the performance of a 4.0TT V8 GTS, with a much lower price tag than the GTS.

Luxury: full leather is a treat. Great seats, dashboard and door trim panels. Love it.

Comfort: air suspension for the world. It's a game changer. I have 21" wheels on the Cayenne and I was concerned about harshness, given my experience with 20" wheels on the GLE350 which was very harsh considering it is not a performance model. The Porsche air suspension with 21" wheels is ultra plush and comfortable. I think even @Streamliner might like it. And it can be firm and sporty by selecting Sport+.

Aesthetics: It's a Porsche and the family resemblance is visible in the rear and side views. Interior design is traditional which I like - no iPad stuck in the middle of the car.

After 6 months of ownership: two thumbs up.

I am thinking about trading in 2 years for a 2023 GTS. The 2024 model year Cayenne facelift is not to my liking in many ways, and others on rennlist agree.
