Monoblock GLS AMG wheels on a GLE
Can it be done? I want to take the current, incredibly striking monoblock wheels that are an option on the AMG GLS and put those wheels on a GLE 580. I've been told that "the offsets are not the same" and I do not exactly know what that means. What are we talking about?... It's a 1/2 further out towards the body? Is it a substantive problem? Will the tires rub the wheel well? Will it look off?
What are your thoughts?
(And if the answer is that it cannot be done, BUT you CAN buy aftermarket wheels to the same effect.... To that I say, "Yeah, but the OEM monoblocks are sort of incomparable--I don't want something with a 'B' on it." Anyone know where I can find something VERY close to the OEM monoblocks, just in a GLE shoe size?)
Thank you for your attention.

Let's start with the fact that I love monoblocks and have >25 yo set by Lorinser on my 4th MB, even I bought them used.
I hope you will understand the offset looking at the picture below. My monoblocks have offset few mm lower than original wheels, what makes them sticking up more, but beside mud slap on the sides (we very seldom have mud), the difference is unnoticeable.
Your 13 mm difference is quite big, but still, MB usually have good space to fender rims and can take quite a bit.
Than wheel fitment are not just the rims alone. Tires are made with very loose tolerances and the same nominal sizes can vary in actual sized quite a bit.
At final point, there is only 1 way to make sure it fits.
