2018 GLE 350 4MATIC vibrates upon braking

Hello All,

Currently my 2018 GLE 350 4MATIC vibrates upon braking. It's pretty erratic and doesn't happen all the time when I brake. It could be when I'm going 60 mph to braking, or when I'm going 40mph or even 20 mph to braking. It's not consistent other than it happens when I'm braking. At first I thought it was the road conditions but now I'm not sure since this also happens on newly paved road. What should I do next?

Thanks.

Warped rotors is usually the culprit. If your steering wheel vibrates then it's the front, if steering wheel doesn't vibrate but the rear end does, then it's the rear, or could be both.

Time for new pads and rotors all around.

I concur… The rotors are probably slightly warped.

Without knowing how worn the brake hardware is, the erratic nature and no warning light on dash suggest it could also simply be pad material deposition on the rotors from light driving/braking. You can remove the layer of pad material with a few panic stops from 60 MPH to 10 MPH on a safe isolated road (it will smell bad, and you should continue driving for a bit afterward to cool down the brakes--don't just park it hot). Might be worth a try before spending $$.

get Brembo 09.A958.21 drilled rotors it can withstand heat better than most generic ones
