Hello everyone! I am currently having an all-leather steering wheel with heated steering wheel function. But I noticed the leather is getting old recently, so I wonder if I can buy a wood/leather steering wheel while keep my heating function work?

One of our local mechanical shop has one pulled off from a total loss GLE but they do not remember if it comes with heating. I did some research and many people say the wood steering wheel does not have heating at all and only those all-leather wheels can do heating. Does anyone know if this is the same for W166 GLE?

I just did the wood grain wheel upgrade on my Gle. I can confirm you do lose the heating function. Totally worth it tho, the wood wheel is SO much better in the hand!

Heated wheel is optional. You need the column position adjustment switch/lever which includes the rotary heating function.

i ordered my GLE with the wood wheel.
it does NOT have the heating function.
I own it… it was never an option with this wheel.
