I've never had any issues but the last time I went and got my oil changed (3rd party oil only shop) the guy insisted my temperature gauge was showing the car is running HOT! He claimed the needle should be pointing to the 9 o'clock position.
News to me. I've never noticed it/any change. I think he is full of it - but just for comparisons sake - is this within range of normal?
Did the oil change guy put a thermocouple in your radiator and provide you a temperature reading in degrees so you can compare it to specifications, or does he just want to sell you a coolant flush for $250?

No upselling - I think he was trying to be helpful is all. I don't think they even do that kind of work as it just an oil place.

This is the same position my GLE43 sits in when warmed up........I think your oil change person is mistaken.
I agree it seems normal to me. So I was looking through my manual on an unrelated issue, and came across the 'At A Glance' picture of the Instrument Cluster. My old ML500 had numbers, and so does this picture! at 6 oclock - 40 deg Celsius. At 9 o'clock - 80 deg Celsius. At 12 o'clock - 120 deg. OK, I'm totally assuming the degrees celsius, and we all know...
