When looking at used listings, can someone post a link or pictures that show what a Halogen equipped GLE vs a full LED (ILS ) equipped model looks like? I know I can run the VIN, but it's easier to just look through pictures and distinguish. From my research, it sounds like very few non AMG facelift GLEs had LEDs. It was very easy to tell the difference between a standard W212 and an ILS version, but not so on the GLE (from what I can tell). The "coupe" versions appear to be pretty obvious (perhaps they all have it).

The car with LED lights has a turn signal light above the entire assembly and if you see the halogen light, just a small limited version underneath the headlight. This is another clue. Well I hope this helps.
it is hard to tell the difference.
I have a GE 350 with the LED lights and they’re worth their weight in gold!!

 

Headlights on GLE:
Halogen: Reflector housing inside, looks like a basic silver bowl. Often has orange side marker on the fender near headlight.
LED/ILS: Projector lens (clear glass ball) visible. Strip of LED daytime running lights at top or bottom of housing. No orange fender marker on newer ones.
Also ILS has washers in bumper, halogen usually doesn't.

 

Thank you, thats very obvious now that I see the two side by side. That means basically every used GLE W166 I see on autotrader is equipped with halogen. I have the full LEDs on my 15 W212, I'm surprised halogen was still an option on any MB a couple of years later. So it seems like it was rare based off the listings I see.
