Is there any way to make my 2016 GLE default to SPORT mode after a new start-up? I prefer to drive in Sport mode and it's annoying to have it always default to Comfort mode on each startup.

I thought I read in the manual that the car will start to remember what you've been using after a while,so will restart in that mode in time.
Could be wrong.

No. It always defaults to "Comfort" on start up. It might be inconvenient, but probably a good idea. It's easier on the engine if idling at low RPMs until it gets warmed up.

Nope. always automatically starts in comfort mode.
There is a way you can start the car in sport, sport+, or individual mode to get a slightly more aggressive exhaust sound.
Push the "start engine" button once without stepping on brake. Push again and you will see the light comes on in the mode dial. Change it to the mode you want to start with. Then push the "start engine" button again with the brake stepped on. You will then start the car in the mode you want.
