Lease deal

Hi all. I am contemplating getting into a gle coupe. Msrp is around $81k. Dealer is offering $699 per month payments with $19k down for 15k miles per year for 48 months. Most of the down payment is from my trade in. I've never leased a car before and have no idea whether this would be a decent deal. My basic math shows that with my money down plus all the payments comes to $52k. Residual would be $29k. I had been leaning toward a CPO that would come with a longer warranty and I wouldn't be limited for miles. I know that I would be over 15k miles. But he said not to worry about it since they would "just let me out of the lease without any problems". Sounded a little shady

any thoughts? I've heard that you should never put money down on a lease. Or at least as little as possible.

Way too much money down for a lease. Buy a CPO, you're better off. Money you put down at beginning is called a cap cost reduction and it's money you'll never get back unless you decide to buy the car at the end of the lease. 48 months is too long for a lease also. MB's sweet spot in regards to leasing is 28-36 months.

Do not believe the nonsense about 15k and overage miles. It's up to MB FInance, not the dealer. Stick to what the contract says, not what the dealer says. Find a few other dealers and see what they say.

Also, check Edmunds Forum's for lease numbers and what other people are paying.

I'll tell you this much- My Coupe was an msrp of $84k, leased in 2016, I put a total of $3900 at signing, 36 months, 10k per year and I pay $825 inc. tax per month in NJ.

"Let you out lease" if you get another MB, yes.

Take the $19k and put it in your bank account, because all you are doing is prepaying down lease payments. The potential of losing your $19k in the event of an insurance total accident is not something you want hanging over your head for the sole purpose of a having a low monthly payment.

W222 - S550
Finance and lease is just a number game, depending on your financial situation you should decide that. But don't forget to get 7-Year, 100K ELW warranty, in case you decided to keep the car you have the warranty plan and it's refundable or transferable. on the other hand new W223 is coming up, model is showing on the Xentry Scanner, could be 2020 model.
