Takata Airbag Recall
Checking the list of vehicles affected by the Takata airbag recall, it looks like we dodged a bullet:
Mercedes-Benz (1,044,602, including Daimler): 2005–2014 C-class (excluding C55 AMG but including 2008–2012 C63 AMG); 2007–2008 SLK-class; 2007–2017 Sprinter; 2009–2012 GL-class; 2009–2011 M-class; 2009–2012 R-class; 2010–2011 E-class sedan and wagon; 2010–2017 E-class coupe; 2011–2017 E-class convertible; 2010–2015 GLK-class; 2011–2015 SLS AMG coupe and roadster
From the link below:
"Takata may not be the only company liable for installing the defective and deadly airbags. In fact, Mercedes-Benz installed Takata’s airbags in their 2016 and 2017 Mercedes Benz E-Class vehicles, even after the deadly effects were discovered in 2015. Instead of investing to redesign their airbag module, Mercedes Benz decided to continue using ammonium nitrate airbags in these vehicles until they are forced to recall them again in the future."

In case you were wondering, automakers will ALWAYS put profits above safety. It's a good idea to periodically check your VIN at www.mbusa.com/mercedes/recall or www.safercar.gov/.

Everything related to a server must be broke down at MB.
I just went to the recall website (https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/recall), put my VIN in, and all I get is the spinny wheel of death, at the bottom of the page...
