Year End Discounts - what to expect?
Local dealer has 4 GL43 Coupes on the lot that have been sitting for the last 4-5 months. Thinking about working a year end deal on one for the wife. What discounts have others gotten and do you think there is any YE trunk money I could tap into? Rig I’m interested in is MSRP $85,520 and nicely optioned.
These coupes don’t seem to be moving very well in our local market but I think they are sexy as hell.

So giving your address and cell to TruCar will automatically get you to 9% off sticker. The sales person is telling me 10% without working it but I think there is a whole lot more than that in their pocket. The 4 GLE43 Coupes they have on the lot are all 5-7 months old. The unit I am interested in has a 6/19 Mfg date....been there a while. Not to mention that there are 832 2019 GLE43 Coupes for sale around the country right now...(cars.com) MBUSA is going to have to start juicing these things to move them with the new GLE already out.
Drove the one I am interested in today and was impressed. Only knock I would have is that the exhaust is a bit rowdy when on the throttle but that’s an AMG for you. Acceleration and handling seemed adequate for anything we would want. Told the sales person they needed to be at least 18% to start the discussion and thanked her for her time, She sold me my current S class so knows I’m a serious buyer if they want to play, Sales Manager said they needed to sell 200 units before year end and that they were only at 100 on the 23rd. Will see how long it takes them to call me back in... have to drop my S off Monday for washer fluid pump so will swing by the sales managers desk to say hello and grab a coffee.
