Doors locked when key in the trunk?

Doors locked when key in the trunk?
Hi all.
I have a 2019 GLE 43 AMG Coupe and had a quick question. The other day I left the key in my purse which was in the trunk. Then within a minute all the doors got locked and the only way to get in the car was to open the trunk and get the keys and unlock the doors. But when I opened the trunk the alarm went off. I thought it won't lock the doors if the key is left inside. Any info would be much appreciated.

interesting.... i have tested the key in the front and it wont lock.... never tried with them in the rear hatch area... guess they didn't think of that

Exactly, I had left the key in the front and the doors won't lock. But tested it twice with the trunk and although the trunk won't lock, but all four doors will be locked and the alarm goes off!! I'm curious to see if anyone will experience the same thing!
