myabe trading ml63 for gle63s coupe...
looking at a '16 gle63s coupe... 10k miles, looks pretty loaded... carfax is clean... i can't spot any paint or damage... only missing tow package... cpo for 74k.... trading my ml63.... let see how this goes...

Put about 100 miles on it... on a paper its the same chassis.... 27 more hp... little more torque....
Well driving proves that to be incorrect.
Tranny shifts smoother with less hunting and less noticeable feel its even shifting... very smooth....
It's a bit tighter, but it is 40k less miles and 4 yrs newer so to be expected...
Power... very different... if there is turbolag I've not felt it yet.... where the ml63 has some hesitation at gentle throttle trying to pull out of an intersection, the GLE63 has none... like there is no turbo and its just a giant motor

not a lot... $28k, had 52 k miles on it and needs probably 5-6k of work... radiator, ujoints, a/c work.... but im happy, new car has only 10k miles and 4 yr warranty...
oh and guess i was wrong on the tranny same 7 speed, some paperwork said 9 ?

Ya they're a greedy bunch - preliminary they put your former ML @ almost $50K. I know they can not CPO it (its over 50K miles) and doubt they will put $5K into it. They must be under a great "pressure" from the new CEO of the parent company.
I bought my '15 ML63 Perf. Pack. from them last November for $63K with only 8K miles, which they did CPO (invoice showed they spent about $2.5K including all new tires and rear brakes being the most "costly" items). I assume they made at least $10K on the car plus I know another $10K on my trade. My ML was in their inventory for about a week and my traded for it CLS less than three, so about $20K profit on the turnover in less than a month. Not bad.
EDIT: they took down the price to a much more reasonable $36K. It is also clear that they will not do any work on the car you mentioned are needed.

How is it 4 yr warranty? Assuming the car has about 1yr (or less if delivered in late 2015) of the original warranty left plus 1 yr CPO, its only two (plus/minus). Or did you buy additional 2yr CPO ELW from them?

i bought 2 more years of warranty... they max they would allow... oh and i payed just under 50k for the ml at 28k ? miles... 2 years ago....

I did likewise, but not from them. Bought from Jeff Jackson @ Toffel Motors. Saved myself $1,300. Came in handy as I already spent half of it on service - tranny oil/filter change (they said milage is irrelevant, as they go by years, so do not be surprised when they tell you that $600 tranny service is required next time you bring GLE in for service, IMHO they should have done it at their cost when CPOed the car) and brake fluid flush (I have changed all other filters myself).

Congrats on the car! The GLE63S is a beast of a vehicle. Got any pictures? The link you posted isn't valid anymore. To clarify a few of your comments on your VIN Decoder, part 811 is the Bang and Olufsen sound system. The easiest way to tell is the silver speaker grilles all over the car as well as the Acoustic Lens tweeters on the upper side panels where the side mirrors are. The TIREFIT replaces the spare tire as a result of the Bang and Olufsen system being optioned. It's a tire sealant in case you have a blown tire. I'm surprised to hear that the transmission feels that different, it's the same 7G-Tronic used in the ML63. Probably updated the programming when the GLE facelift happened. Also, the 9 speed is for the GLE43/450 versions, the 63 retains the 7G. Happy driving!

the more i drove it the more i like it.... guessing tranny diff must be software... it downshifts like i would if it where a manual...
power is smoother...
ride is much better, compliant but not stiff like the ML63... in comfort mode...
steering assist is awful, for the 1st 300 miles or so i was fighting what i thought was a bad alignment, kept moving me back and forth in the lane in the highway... finally found and shut it off, so much more relaxing.... granted if you let go off the wheel you can feel it jogging you back and forth in the lane so it's working but it only last a few seconds and then *****es cause your hands are off the wheel
Distronic cruise is still great...
Active lane assist is tolerable... i understand how it works so when it dings me cause the tractor trailer is crowding me and i move over or there is a pothole and i go over the yellow line i get it...
Exhaust is different... slightly louder maybe ? got a good growl when your slowing down and it's downshifting by itself...

totally agree..... I'd prefer the regular non coupe version but we where in a spot... mine needed repairs, didn't want a non amg or new... they had this mint coupe with 10k miles CPO.... for $45k less than new... i'll drive it for 3 years then get another one
