Anyone gone to the track???
So there was a cool event at our local 1/4 mile track and since I just had the downpipes installed and stage 2 done I figured I'd give it a few runs to see what it would do. It was about 69 degrees so decent weather. Stock my understanding is they run around mid 12's'ish I was very happy to run consistent 11.9's at 117mph on all 4 runs I got in. 1.8 60' was pretty good. It was bang on consistent with .01 every run, damn good bracket racer for sure.
The lack of launch control was the hampering factor on the launch. I think leaving at 3500rpm would net some 11.7's or better but alas standard GLE doesn't have it (maybe the coupe does?). Overall pretty happy with the runs, truck ran great, beat everyone I ran against which of course netted a lot of astonished looks and comments. I was the only SUV out there as well.
Current mods are Stage 2, mid pipes, K&N Filters. Been looking for a good CAI but I haven't found anyone that makes one. Oh and the sound is absolutely intoxicating. It sounds soooo good. Loud when your in it, quiet when your cruising, comfy when you want it but a beast in the corners. Oh and it tows fantastic. I picked up a 16' x 8.5' enclosed trailer and set the cruise at 73mph and take a break every 175 miles to get gas (yea that part isn't fun but it's worth it).

Old thread, I know, but I am going to be buying one of these and wanted to see what I can expect stock on the GLE63S. I like to go racing up at the NE dragway from time to time to get my jollies.
When I test drove one I actually thought it did have launch control. I foot braked it and stomped the gas and it definitely raised the rpm and launched. It wasn't anything super impressive but enough to brake a couple tires a little loose on virgin asphalt. I guess that wasnt launch control though? Just slipping one of the clutches?
