CPO Gle63 amg
Hello everyone. I am considering a 2016 gle63 amg that is a Cpo vehicle with 46,000 miles. Asking price is 57,900. Test drove it today and I really like the suv, performance exhaust is awesome. My only hesitation is The long term reliability/costs. I would definitely go with the 2 yr extended warranty, but what about beyond the 3 yr period? (1 cpo + 2 yr ext). Is that going to be a total nightmare? Do people hang onto these things long term?
Anyone with any real world input/examples as to long term reliability/costs of these vehicles and maintenance issues? Thanks in advance.

Extended warranties are generally priced in favor of the carrier, which means they are money losing propositions for most consumers. This is debated ad nauseam on this site.
On cargurus, the highest mileage 2016 GLE63 or GLE63s has 85,000 miles. Not much. The vehicle has not been on the market long enough for owner to accumulate high mileage.
The M157 seems to be well loved by owners. It was used in a variety of models. Looking on cargurus for models using the M157 as far back as 2012, surprisingly not many vehicles listed have over 100,000 miles. There are a handful with between 100k and 150k. One ML63 has 173k miles. Hard to say why. These are quasi-sports cars, and may be driven fewer miles. They have high maintenance and fuel costs. They have loud exhaust, which may get old after a while. Lots of reasons why mileage may not be high.

I got a CPO last year. Added 20K miles on it so far and its going strong. I drive it pretty hard too. Had the motor mounts replaced under warranty. I'm going to either keep this or drive it till 150K and get a new 2021MY G63.
