Absurd delays on parts, affecting anyone else?
I sent it to Contemporary Motor Car in little silver NJ (have no relationship there it was just the closest MB dealership to where I hit the deer - the car was undrivable).
They sent it to Lee's garage in west long branch for the body work.
The dealership won't talk to me. They said I am not even in their system as a customer until the car comes back from Lee's.
And Lee's says Contemporary isn't able to get them all the parts and they won't start until everything is in.
Last week they were waiting on condenser, left headlamp, impact bar, center molding, left side cover bracket, left outer grill, rad support mount ring, right bumper cover screw and nut ... yesterday, they said some parts were received but not all. Like I said, it has been 7 weeks since the accident. The current shop has had it for a few days less than that.
My buddy just got hit in the back hard, rear-end destroyed, airbags deployed. In a GL class. Non-AMG. He got his car back in 3 weeks.
Cant help but think I am sitting at the back of the line because I don't have any personal relationship with either place.
As if it didn't suck enough losing my car less than 6 months after buying it, I'm waiting it out almost 2 months already, and no one is even talking to me about a date I might get it back.
Are these parts really that hard to come by right now???
Thanks all

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that the Dealership can't find you in their system.
If you can find the exact part that's holding up the body shop, let us know and maybe somebody will confirm that they are waiting for that part, too.
Good luck.
It is the trim molding for the center piece of the bumper. Part number 292-885-00-21-64 (chrome)
If anyone, anywhere, has this lying around or even has an aftermarket or non-oem replacement suggestion .. I would be very grateful.
When I posted that last cry for help I had just emailed a bunch of parts suppliers and gratefully, one got back to me with actionable info.
There was 2 in the world, one in VA and one in FL.
I called both dealerships about a dozen times before finally reaching someone in FL.
Guy turned out to be amazing and helpful.. sold me the piece over the phone and overnighted it to me.
I have it!
Brought it to the shop today and hoping for a swift end to the madness.
