Yesterday, my car started showing two messages (alternated between the two for a good 10-15 minutes) : "Active brake assistance function limited" and "Traffic Sign Assist Inoperative". I was sitting in traffic and the ambulance and police cars were not far from where I was trying to guide the traffic.

After I got to my destination and turned off the engine, the messages went away and didn't come back on. Was wondering if anyone knows why these errors were showing.

Thanks

It might be possible that there was some dirt in the driver assistance sensors. I believe the sensor is behind the Mercedes Logo in the front grille. This is fairly common after snow, rain etc.

Thank you for your reply, I will check and clean it. The fact that both warnings were alternating kind of scared me that maybe something more serious is going on!
