Picked up this animal
I haven't been active in the forums in years after my C32 got rear ended and totaled. I have had a jeep since then and due to work travel mostly been in rental cars or my wife's Subaru Crosstrek. With travel finally winding down and needing a car I decided I was ready to get another AMG. Stumbled across a 2017 GLE 63S with 47k miles and several mods already done - renntech stage 2 tune, cat-less downpipes (they look to be 3in, havent been able to get my calipers on them yet), resonator delete and renntech BOV kit. This thing is just plain stupid fast and puts a smile on my face every time I tap the gas.
While it is fun, the fact it is straight piped to the stock muffler is something I have to change. I have been looking at valved mufflers, but not sure if that will be enough to tame it down. I am looking at getting some Borla resonators to install in the mid pipe area and see if that will quiet her down a bit. The cold starts here in TN mountain mornings are fun but a lot less fun for my wife and neighbors at 530am! Plus the drone in the drone in the cabin is louder than I want it to be.
Has anyone had any success/ experience with aftermarket resonators or mufflers they would like to share?
Thanks,
Andrew
