GLE63s VS Trackhawk - I need a rematch

As the title says, a buddy of mine has a 2018 Trackhawk. It's stock and the supercharger whine sounds amazing. It reminds me of my 2004 Cobra with how loud it screams. Well, we decided to line up his stock Trackhawk with my stock 2016 GLE63s. Off the line was pretty even but then he started to pull away. Now I'm on a mission for a rematch and trying to figure out what I need to outrun this Trackhawk. I'm wondering if a Eurocharged tune will do it? They quote 667 hp / 760 tq. However, in California with the 91 octane they said that drops to 645 hp / 730 tq. The Eurocharged tech also recommended I replace the stock air filters with either BMC filters or K&N filters.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts whether this tune will be enough to outrun the Trackhawk? I certainly don't want to challenge him again just to get beat. On the plus side, my car did have some nice pops and crackles and my interior sure looks a lot nicer!!

Thanks.

I have both. A Eurocharged stage 2 tune and TCM tune will get you neck to neck with a stock Trackhawk until 110mph then the hawk will
pull slightly. Now a modded Trackhawk forget it! Game over! My draggy times with the GLE63S is 3.3 0-60 and quarter mile 11.6 with the Tune and TCM upgrade.

Thanks. Yeah, I know tuned Trackhawks are no joke. Before buying this car I was really debating buying the Trackhawk. I finally decided the better quality of the GLE was worth more than that slight speed advantage.

Renntech R1 package. BOV, Filters and tune. 700hp 800ft lbs. on 93 octane. 91 oct lowers it by 30hp and 30 ft/lbs. I would also do the TCU tune.

do you have stock exhaust?
with downpipes and stage 2 and tcm you should be faster than a stock trackhawk

All this talk about TCU tunes. Anyone do them besides Eurocharged? I am tune by West Tune and will be going stage 2 this spring. Just looking for options. Long time Audi guy. It seems to be harder to find solutions for this platform being used to my c7 rs7.

Yes, I have stock exhaust. It is the AMG performance exhaust however. Nope, it won’t run with the stock Trackhawk. There is an issue with my tune that I am having Jerry try to work out. Do you have any draggy times with pulls from your car? Would love to know
what it’s running to 60 and quarter mile times.

we are actually offering a FREE tcu tune when you buy a ecu tune and remote cable (just so you know lol)

If you have any questions just let me know. Coupon code is FREETCU (put the ecu tune, tcu tune, and remote tuning cable in the cart)

TCU, CPC?? ECU is a standard so what do those terms refer to and what do they do for the added cost.

they are all Mercedes standards

ecu - engine control
tcu- transmission control
cpc - power train control unit (similar to ecu). This is a newish Mercedes controller that is used on most 2020+ cars (we verify with vin). This module contains torque limiters etc that must be tuned out otherwise it causes limp mode issues with the vehicle.

yes there is additional cost for all.

for this vehicle
ecu : 1699
tcu: 1999
cpc: 1999

I'll try to get some times. Might be hard on the street as I can light up the tires from a 30mph roll pretty easily.

The downpipes make a big difference. I got them before I got a tune and it was definitely noticeable. If you're neck and neck now to 100, I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't make a big enough difference to pull past at 110.
But yeah, they have a 150hp on the GLE from the factory.
