Shutting off engine after driving hard

My 2019 GLE63S operates at around 200 degrees Fahrenheit on a 70-80 degree day, driving it hard will rise it to 220ish. If i park the car should i let it cool down a little back to the low 200’s before shutting off ? Will doing so help or do nothing & is it advisable the last few minutes before getting home you drive calmly to avoid shutting off the engine while very hot.

Yes, very much so. Like a cool down lap at the track, you are supposed to take it easy for the last couple of miles before parking the car, so that the fluids can circulate and cool down the engine. You also don't wanna park it with hot brakes and let the parking brake engage as that could result in the pads to imprint on the rotors. At the AMG Driving Academy they requested that we leave the engines running after each stint and manually release the parking brake when getting out. That was with ADA USA at Laguna Seca. Interestingly when I attended one in Germany at the Nürburgring, they didn't bother, but the ambient temperatures were also much lower.

That makes a lot of sense, i figured so i just wanted to make sure. I had hope cars these days would figure something around that but then again maybe not, engine needs coolant so shutting it off means coolant & pumps will be off. Don’t want hot turbos without Oil as well, thanks for the good insight 👍🏽💪🏽

They do have cooling for the turbos, so that they don't cook the oil when coming to a stop. It does get hot in there with them nestled between the cylinder banks. You might have noticed that at times the fan keeps running for up to 10 minutes after parking the car. That's to cool down the turbos.

Big time, that fan be working Overtime. I drove it hard tonight & was hanging out and was bothered by the fan so i started thinking it through. The front wheel wells were blowing steaming hot air. The turbos main cooling is the fan or the coolant ? Or they’re both working together i can see as well. I’m most definitely taking it easy with low rpm’s from now on when knowing i’m shutting off the engine.

There's oil and coolant going through the turbos as far as I know.

Anyone still remembers turbo timers? Good o'l days...
Anyways all the suggestions mentioned were good advice, after a spirited drive, make sure to leave the vehicle idling for a minute or so to let the turbo cool down then shut off the car.
