For WINTER can i go square with a set of tires and rims on gle63 amg coupe?
Can I go all around with 22x9.5 Amg rims and 285/40/22 pirelli scorpion winter tires? The offset appear to all jive and dealer said should be ok. I want your opinion? These tires and rims were off gls 600 2020.
I have staggered 21" Pirelli Scorpions on my 63 and super happy with the performance. I have been out in some pretty dicey weather this winter and always felt solid and secure. I'm sure 22" square will offer similar performance.
My last winter trip on these 22" Scorpions with around 3-3.5mm. I was worried about the tread depth but the 580 still handled surprising well, never felt out of control with mix of hard pack snow, ice, and slush. Next season I'm moving onto Alpin 5 on 20" wheels, possibly Nokian WRG5 depending on the reviews. Do the big AMG brakes fit in the 20" wheels?

I went back and forth a few times trying to figure out the best option for winter tires. I wanted a branded AMG rim, and wasn't comfortable using some cheap replica rim on my car. I explored 20" initially but Mercedes had limited 20" options that would clear the red brakes. My dealer suggested these but I wasn't overly impressed so I ended up going with a 21" set. There may be more options available in your market but this was my only option here.
