Air Suspension
Good afternoon All,
First and foremost, not sure if his is the correct section to post this in, as there was no selection for a GLE43 AMG. If there is a place for me to be, please let me know.
I have a 2019 GLE43, and have a question on after market air suspension. If I wanted to go this route, what considerations do I have to make? Like will this impact switching between comfort and sport++ modes, or will the new air suspension take precedent? Is there anything else that you would recommend me upgrading at the same time? If anybody has done this to their GLE43, what was the whole process like and how do you like it? Thanks in advance to anybody that responds.
EDIT - Additional Question : Anybody know of a good AMG shop on the east coast. I am in PA, so preferably in the "tri-state area" (PA, NY, NJ, DEL)?

No first hand knowledge doing it, but I'm curious. The GLE 43 already has air suspension as far as I can see from the specs, so what exactly are you trying to do? To answer some of your questions, yes it will affect the operation of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT. You will need bypass modules to avoid errors, unless you can find an aftermarket suspension that integrates with AMG DYNAMIC SELECT. Normally they are controlled independently via a separate button or remote. Also, aftermarket air suspensions usually take up space in the trunk for the air tank, again, unless there's one that can use the tank that's already there. But again, it's back to what exactly you are trying to do. If you just want to lower it, there are lowering modules that do that. Swapping out a stock air suspension for an aftermarket air suspension isn't something I ever came across to be honest. Most people who what they call "bag" their car replace a coil suspension with an aftermarket air suspension mainly for show, so they can slam it to the ground while stationary.

Yes the GLE does already have air suspension, but the reason I am looking into replacing it, is because I want more control over ride height for comfort, ride height for sport, parking height, etc. Thank you for pointing out the possible need for bypass modules, as that is the kind of info I am looking for. Preferably I would want a system that integrates, but I will have to do some research to see if any systems on the market can do that.
