22 GLE63s Oil Viscosity
In looking at the manual, it appears that I can use either 0W40 or 5W40 oil that meets MB 229.5 in my 2022 GLE63s. There is no guidance, however, on when to use what. I'm accustomed to seeing a temp application chart that gives guidance. Is there a specific application for one over the other? I can get 0W40 locally, but not 5W40. The car had one oil change before I bought it (only 7k miles), and 5W40 was used for that. The indy shop I use highly recommends a 5,000 mile oil change cycle on these, so I plan to follow that.

Honestly, i doubt the car or you would notice any difference with either one (as long as you're using a good quality oil).
Myself, I run the 5w40. If I lived in Alaska or another extremely cold state, I'd probably consider using 0W40!

I have a G63 which has same engine as GLE63 and I ordered Mobil 1 05w-40 (European Formula) from Walmart. It meets the specs Mercedes specifies for this engine.
