This is most likely the case since it comes back with a restart.
not uncommon software issue across several MB models including EQS I think it was a bad update or something should be fine if the patched update gets installed
You may want to reboot the MBUX system by holding down the TEL and Star(Favorites) button on the console for 10 seconds. If that doesn't help I would try a hard reset which restores everything to factory settings: Home » Settings » System » Reset. NOTE: you will lose all your settings with hard reset.

Worth trying as a temporary remedy but if it is a buggy software version, the patched version needs to be installed to fix it properly.
