Your opinion about intake

After speaking with a few tuners I got a mix output about intake. A guy from PTG said that GLE63 stock intake is pretty restrictive and I need a bigger box and local tuner said it's are ok, I can throw K&N filter and it will be just fine. Your thoughts on that.
PS I will be installing a downpipes and tune it.
This is an intake I am looking at:

Intakes do not do much for our cars without a tune. Even then, the performance gain will be very minimal, especially considering the cost of any intake on a GLE.

It depends on what your goal is. If you want a cool-looking engine bay like me, or you want more engine turbo noises, then an intake will help with that.

But, if you're looking to go faster, then buy a different car.

A $1000 intake system on a GLE will barely make a half-second difference in your performance gains, and the end result is still a slow, large SUV.

Whoever is telling you that you need an intake is just trying to make a sale, and I personally would not deal with them. If they are giving you advice just so they can make money, that is not someone I would want to trust in any business. You should have data, pros and cons, and then you can make your own decision.

Notice how the intake for sale site does not show any actual performance gains on the GLE. They claim better filtration and more air. Sure, but what does XX% more air do? How much performance gain are you getting from it? They don't say because it's minimal, if any at all.

Lastly, even in their C63 video that's linked, which has nothing to do with our GLEs, they claim power gains from a dyno by talking about "engine HP" gains while on the dyno. When you're on a dyno, you get HP and TQ at the wheels and you calculate the power gains there. Actual wheel TQ NM gains were 15WHP, but they claim 34 HP gains.

Yes, +15WHP is a gain, but will that make your GLE fast or fix the issue that your stock intake is so restrictive, not at all.

I am throwing a downpipe and and tune for sure
Regarding faster SUV: m177 engine has lots of potential, Brabus 800 and 900, even 1000. Problem is it has been restricted, choked and detuned to save trees and bunnies. I've seen some serious gains without jeopardizing durability.

I did. Then I upgraded to a aftermarket air filter. And now I installed a full intake system.
