Trackpad Confusion

Good morning all. I am still trying to figure out how to use the track pad. When I am changing stations on XM or navigating through the menu options, sometimes the trackpad will respond to one tap and sometimes it wont. Maybe 75% of the time it will respond to two taps. I took it in to the dealership and they agreed that it shouldn't operate like this so they replaced it. I drove away and it is still the same. What am I missing? How should it respond to a tap, not press?

Thanks,

C

When trackpad stops working, reboot the system and that should fix it. Quick way to reboot is holding down vehicle and radio buttons on console for 10 seconds. It is what it is.

The trackpad on my 2024 GLE does not do anything when I tap it. Like on a laptop for example. I need to press the trackpad one time and it will work.
But overall the MBUX trackpad is difficult to use, so the quickest way is using the touch screen.

We have it disabled. Even on our GLS with no touch screen, the pad is off and we use the multi-function knob clicker wheel.

I have it set on low sensitivity.
First I set the sensitivity to High, hoping for better luck. Then it was too sensitive, and even my USB cable touching it would take some unintended action. Then I set it to Low sensitivity, which alleviated that.
The only thing I use it for is to advance to the next track on my Pandora.
I don't really think it's useful.
