W166 2016 GLE - Possible Wiring Issue / Rodent Problem
Years ago I used to be on here back in the UK and had some great conversations with you all. I have since lost access to that account and email so I'm over in the US now working on Mercedes and VAG Vehicles.
Today I've come across something which reminded me about MBWorld! So, thanks for having me back! - Okay, now for the fun part.
So, to start, I don't have STAR equipment now. I'm working my way to that because it's expensive so please don't hate me for using an older snap on diag!
Symptoms:
Misfiring Cylinder 6
Rough Idle
Rough Acceleration
Diagnosis:
According to the Diag machine Codes:
P0306-85 - Combustion misfiring of cylinder 6, signal above permissable limit
P0300-85 - As Above just not specific to cylinder 6
P0663-00 - The actuation for the switchover valve of the intake manifold Cylinder Bank 2 has an electrical fault or open circuit, general failure
P0113-12 - (I find this one the most interesting) - Intake air temperature sensor 1 bank 1 has a SHORT TO POSITIVE - there is a short circuit positive (current)
I would like to safely say that these appear to be on the same loom, so is it possible that there is a short somewhere in the loom? I've removed the sleeving from the PCM to the back of the engine and cannot find anything, however the firewall insulation has been chewed and so has the screenwash cap (must have been thirsty after their meal).
I have not yet done any electrical testing. I wanted to know if anyone had had these exact or near codes at the same time, so I'm not going down a rabbit hole of removing sensors and testing lines.
Annoyingly it appears the customer has already had the car somewhere else as I found bolts missing from 2 coil packs (4 and 6) and clips on multiple sensors are snapped and being held in with zip ties (don't you just love that)
Any pointers would be appreciated. Look forward to being involved in conversations again!
