Question: is the drivers assistance package a dealer breaker for current GLE owners?
Hey everyone,
I am curious to those who own a GLE and have the feature was it a deal breaker if it did not have it? I am looking to get into a 53 Coupe most of the ones I like have the Drivers Assistance Package but I found a 2023 that has everything known to man (literally pinnacle package, soft close doors etc) but the driver's assistance package. I am a little torn about this vehicle now.

That's really up to you and how you plan to use the car, regardless of GLE or another model. I use DISTRONIC with Active Steering regularly when cruising along on a highway trip and the traffic ahead can't maintain a constant speed. I never used regular cruise control, because of having to constantly adjust the speed, and Active Steering is nice for relaxed long distance driving. I don't daily drive and I don't find myself much in stop&go traffic, but both of these are also extremely great in stop&go traffic. The car basically drives itself and it keeps my sanity. Having said that, I don't use it on open roads much. During the Covid lockdowns for example, I didn't use it for like 2 years, because the roads were empty. I had no need for it. There was no traffic and if I went anywhere the roads were empty, so I just drove myself. What it really does is make other cars on the road and the congestion etc. they cause less frustrating by just letting the car adjust to it.

I appreciate the reply! My C43 had it and I am not gonna lie it was really nice. I think i am gonna get this GLE 53 I am looking it. It is pretty much fully loaded with everything you can think of for the platform except for the Drivers Assistance Package and AMG Track Pace.

I'm pretty sure you can have RJ automotive add the distronic adaptive cruise control. Not the steering part though. Just distronic. My wife has a 2020 350 GLE and we added the distronic using RJ automotive. It's been perfect. For me on my 2020 E63 and 2024 GLE 63s I have pretty much every option I could find and I am very happy with it.

I'd never buy an MB without it. Pretty sure it will be harder to sell when you have to get rid of it. I'd take a suite of safety features any day of the week over a creature comfort if I had to. It's pretty nice to have all of these especially for only $1,950

This list reminds me. I often forget that speed limit recognition is part of the Driver Assistance package, so folks who skip the package often then wonder why they can't see the speed limit in the instrument cluster and then complain.
