The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4MATIC- The US Version

Mercedes-Benz USA today has unveiled an equally extensive look at the variant that will make its way to the states: The 2010 Mercedes GLK350 4MATIC. Nearly every facet of the model is covered, ranging from its design to its various technical and safety features, so if you've been contemplating whether or not the new SUV is worthy of you hard-earned income, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and get ready for a gargantuan portion of pure, unadulterated GLK-themed goodness.

I have never seen so many photos of one car in my life!!! Great coverage.

I want one, but I wish they would import a diesel to add to my collection.

Car magazines and internet rumors have the Bluetec version showing up in the states sooner or later. That article makes it sound like its set in stone that the only engine being offered in the U.S. will be the 350 and if that holds true its sure to fail. The price point will be so far into the ML scale that one of the models will be dropped after a few model years. My money would be on the GLK as the ML has too much of a consumer following. I would lean more toward the magazine/internet rumor side and say there will be a GLK300, GLK350, and GLK320 Bluetec.

No way the GLK will be dropped. The ML will be all new in a few years and further distance itself from GLK. Just the mere perception of getting a smaller, cheaper Benz SUV will keep the GLK sales going during this $4 gas period. The GLK will start around 36K and typical options will put it at 43-45K, right where a ML350 starts (45K). There is most definitely room for both of them pricewise.

The real problem is that on paper there is now no reason to buy a ML over the GLK. So Mercedes has to distance the new ML from the GLK, but neither will be dropped.

Mercedes doesn't drop whole model ranges that often, and if they haven't dropped the slow selling R-Class then they aren't going to drop anything. Even the R is getting a facelift for 2010.
