The GLK Inventory Leader....Take A Peek

Hello Everybody,

We just created a new web site dedicated to the new 2010 GLK350. The link is located in my signature. Please feel free to take a look at the vast inventory that we have, plus get information on the vehicle. We are also offering a giftcard incentive with the purchase/order of any new GLK. If anybody has any questions, please feel free to pm me or email me to the address in my signature

My hat is off to you for such a great job on your GLK site. No wonder a friend of mind drives from Vegas to buy from you guys.

My wife wants a GLK and I will be sure to talk to you first when KG is available for GLK.

Again, great job and thanks for all the info.

Great site MBwestminister. Head and shoulders above other dealers.

Is the $500 coupon your "dealer program" or a MBUSA program that will nationwide, similar to Canada?

I understand that Mon. 5th is USA official launch day and more may be announced. So many dealers just are not proactive. Again, great job going out to interested MB customers and prospects.

Good job on the site, but be careful of the photo section of the GLK site. Several of those pictures are not US spec cars and I noticed one of the Vision GLK and one that was a sketch that spy shot sites were using years ago.

Great website. If I remember correctly you're the dealer who made a dedicated site for the W221 S-Class a couple years back.

MBWestminister,
What is your service mgr advising GLK buyers to do about chains/cables/snow tires? MBUSA site does not recommend chains/cables???

I cannot find correct size snow tires for 19" or 20" GLK wheels and am not sure if after market 17" wheels are available.

A GLK that cannot go into snow country does not work for many potential buyers. OEM all season tires are not accepted by State Highway Patrol for snow country.

As far as I have been able to determine, there are no 19" or 20" snow tires available for GLK in NA. However, there are at least two choices available in 235/60 x 17" size from Tirerack to fit the OEM 17"x 7.5" 5 spoke alloys available from MB Canada and presumably from MBUSA. These are the same wheels offered in Germany for the Off-road version of the GLK.

If you look at the MBUSA site for GLK and click on Accessories, you will see a photo of chains fitted on the front wheels of a GLK.

Talked with parts guy at Denver, WestminsterMB and he could not find any 17" wheel in his USA system for GLK. He also could not find any snow tires for 19" or 20", but we knew that.

He and service rep did say MB does not recommend use of chains or cables. They also said MB bolt pattern for GLK is MB std of many years and wheel offset is 45mm. No spec on bolt length, but should not be an issue.

Given new info, I can search for a compatable after market 17" wheel, that can be fitted with real snow tires.

DerekACS mentions alu roof rail accessory and a picture of chains on front of a GLK in the accessories section of MBUSA site, but I do not see them? Go to MBUSA, GLK, Build, accessories and I do not find. What am I missing?

Correct...MB does not recommend chains or cables. You can definitely do it at your discretion, but it will be strictly aftermarket. In terms of tires, Pirelli will be making a Scorpion Ice and Snow, as they did with the 20" ML63 wheel and the 21" GL550 wheel. Look out for it!

The OEM 17" 5 spoke alloys are in stock @ MB Canada's main supply depot in Toronto. They list for CD$397.50 ( or approx. US$333) each less any applicable discount (usually 15%) for purchasing a set of four and they could be ordered by any MB Canada dealer and shipped directly to you. If you are interested, contact Jordan Storey @ Mercedes-benz Canada, North Vancouver dealership,
email: storey@mercedes-benz.ca

Go back to MBUSA, GLK Build, click on Accessories, then External Appearance. "Chrome Roof Rails" are listed for $77 !!!!

Sorry, I gave you the wrong website for the RUD-matic Classic snow chains which I saw installed on a GLK (front wheel). I'll try to find that site for you.

The pictures are from a Daimler press release. So maybe not accessories that MBUSA will offer, but definately MB equipment. I've taken the part about the RUD chains:

Press release: Mercedes-Benz genuine accessories in monochrome: The GLK - star quality in white

Stuttgart, Nov 07, 2008

"...Practical factors are the focus when it comes to the RUD-matic snow chain system. Its user-friendly design means that it can be fitted and removed quickly, and the reinforced chain links are designed to withstand the toughest of conditions, providing excellent traction on slippery surfaces. The Quickpark reversing assistant makes precision parking easier, even where visibility is poor, helping to prevent parking damage.

...All Mercedes-Benz genuine accessories are (unless otherwise stated) available now from Mercedes-Benz partners."

Well, long story short, there are no MB dealers in the states selling chains for the GLK.

That's unfortunate for US customers.

However, they can order RUD-matic Classic snow chains from any Canadian dealer. These chains are featured in MB Canada's on line Accessory Catalogue for dealers and they fit 235/60 x 17" alloy wheels, also, as previously stated, available from Canadian MB dealers.

For a list of Canadian dealers, suggest you go to :

No offense guys, but this site is really dedicated to the GLK launch and our special website, not availability of RUD-matic chains or accessories

Yes, fair comment.

Unfortunately, a few of us got sidetracked.

Overpriced? The pricing on the GLK is pretty agressive. It starts under $35K for the RWD and just at $35K for 4WD. A loaded Honda CRV is about $30K. So with some options, why shouldn't an MB SUV be around $40K?

Better GLK prices in Canada !

Why don't you head north where you will find that the GLK sells for less in Canada ?
The basic MFSR price for an AWD GLK is CD$41,800 (or US$34,200) and that includes standard heated seats and mirrors.
