Weird noise after turning off the engine?
Hi peeps, got my GLK for a little over a month now. Loving it, though I regretted getting it since I think I got jacked. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone noticed a high pitch noise from the engine or somewhere in the front after shutting off the engine?

yes i notice that too, sounded like an alarm or something.... faint beep. dunno what it is

I notice a similar noise I hear occasionally after my ML has been off for hours. It's a diesel though.... faint and high pitched

Completely normal. All commonrail diesel engines do this. My Jetta TDI did this, my 2014 GLK250BT does this, and the 2008 ML320 CDI that I just bought for my fianceé as a wedding present does this. My dad's ML diesels have also all done this. It is the sound of the EGR valves going through their adaption cycle.
