22" Wheels for GLK?

I'm considering getting either a 20 inch brabus monoblock VI REPLICA vs 22 inch of the same wheel

Tires: 255/45/20 vs 265/35/22

What do you guys think in terms of comfort level?

Has anyone added 22 wheels to their GLK's yet.

Ehh not big fan of huge wheels. Stock 20's is where it ends for me. Just think that 255/40/20 will go on those wheels when have to be replaced. I believe stock tires are 235/45/20 so if you wanna do 255 then should be 255/40/20 to keep the wheel the same overall diameter.

I drive on really crappy roads, so even 20s are not really ideal for me, but GLK does a good job with them. My next set will be 235/60/17 for winter.

I think that with 265's you are going to have to make sure the offset pushes your wheels out away from the strut enough. If you try to slide your hand behind your front tire there is'nt enough room for your fingers to pass between the tire and strut, very tight fitting. The rear tires have plenty of space though.

would 265's even fit the wheel wells. would the fenders need to be rolled or modded so the tires would not hit on rough roads?

I'm heavily considering the Full Brabus kit for my GLK. However, the Brabus Rims I saw were only 20's. Going to 22's is a bit much for this truck in my opinion.

finally got 22" wheels

I finally got 22" brabus monoblock VI REPLICAS

Wheels 9.5 x 22 (I will get back to you with the offset, but I think it was around 42 but let me double check)

Pirelli tires scorpion zero: 265/35/22

So far, after 1 day: the ride is still smooth, road noise is the same as stock

No fender rolling or rubbing of any sort

In terms of comfort level, I would say about 95% the same as the original ride (used the same brand of tires as the stock version)

I can definitely feel more grip especially during hard turns and even more when combined with the Sport option in our ride

So far I luv it

By the way, I saved about $8000, original brabus wheels were about $9,300 21" wheels and tires

My 22" wheels and tires installed with TPMS transferred from old to new total $1800 cash

Your wheels were 300 bux hehe? I hope not. Post pics asap including close-ups.

That's good they don't rub, hoping to put 255 on my 20s when it's time to replace them.

Looks good from the side (1st pic). I really don't like oversized rims tho.

Did you say the whole set was only $1,800? I'd guess tires alone would cost close to $1,200.

Nice rims.

Would love to get one but .....

I had low profile tires on my old car but with the potholes in NJ on I-80 I had flat tires almost every year.

Drove down to Walnut CA but they also have a mobile service that will drive to you

Ask for Mark, he is the owner and he will find you whatever wheels you are looking for (He's seems like a good guy)

Dont be afraid to negotiate, I could have probably got my wheels and tires cheaper but I was in a hurry

They specialize in Benz wheels

Yea I checked tirerack and for some reason tires in this size are only $208 vs $300-400 for popular tire sizes. So 200-250 a wheel is pretty good, just hope you have nice roads. Here in NJ you'd be getting new set every year.

Lexus Ls460, Honda Element
While looking at wheels/tires my calculations show the correct tire size would have been 265/30/22 to keep the same overall tire size....I am looking to get rid of my lexus ls460 for a glk and was going to purchase 22'' wheels also....just wondering where i made a mistake... I show that the factory 235/45/20 and 265/30/22 are both 28.3 inches in diameter, and the 265/35/22 is 29.3

your correct on the diameter, but the load index per tire will probably be under with 265/30/22's.

Nice looking wheels... but now you got those teeny-tiny brakes... they look too small inside those great looking wheels... time to upgrade to larger brakes!
